We are thrilled to let you know that Celebrating Christmas, sister store to Party & Plate, have once again been invited by Expertise Events to create a Christmas in July display at this year’s Craft & Quilt Fair, Melbourne and for the first time in Sydney, and Hobart in conjunction with Sufi’s Craft.
The theme for this year’s display is Winter, drawing inspiration from the stark icy beauty of the Northern Hemisphere woodlands.
We have been working on the display for weeks and will post all the photos from the Sydney and Melbourne shows however we couldn’t resist showing you a sneak peek.
If you are lucky enough to be going to the fair drop us a line and let us know what you thought of the display.
Visit the craft fair website for more details www.craftfair.com.au
As we were brainstorming ideas for our display and gazing upon the grey Melbourne sky it occurred to us that Christmas in July is a wonderful opportunity for Melbournians to shake off the mid winter blues.
No, not for the gifts or the mad rush to squeeze every last cent from our wallets, but as a fine excuse to gather family and friends for a day of warmth and laughter. So let’s don our coats, frocks and woolly socks and party. Let’s fill the table with rich food and fine wine, turn up the heat and laugh. – We also believe that any legitimate excuse to indulge in Christmas pudding is well worth pursuing wholeheartedly.
HOWEVER- Christmas in July in Australia – probably just cold, damp and slightly mouldy; not exactly the white Christmas of Europe.
So we have put a list together of the ideas and products we used to create our Winter Wonderland which will hopefully help you to create your own shiny white Christmas in July.
