t always seems a little confusing when people look at a balloon and ask "what size is that?". But there are some standard sizes of helium balloons which the large reputable manufacturers, such as Qualatex, use and this should enable to you to plan your next event with a little clarity.
And what do the numbers mean? All the sizes are in inches and some of the balloon sizes are used for some specific projects and arrangements
5 inch balloons - mini 12cm balloons are used for balloon topiaries, table centrepieces or even cake toppers. Will not float so filled with air. Egg shape
11 inch balloons - your 'standard balloon size', 28cm balloon used generally for a bunch of balloons for putting on the ceiling. Egg shape
16th inch balloons - or 40cm balloons are just that bit bigger balloon and give you a lot more presence at your event. Great for creating hot air balloons, or balloon people. Egg shape
3 foot balloons - or 90cm balloons are big, JUMBO and round. These balloons are huge and really scream party. They hold so much helium (30 times a normal balloon) that they can carry lots of weight such as streamers, tassels and confetti. They are the only balloon which is a true round shape.
At party & plate we stock the above sizes as standard, but can source all sizes within a couple of days. Note not all colours of balloons are available in all sizes. Check out our balloon colour chart here.
